Milstone session.

What to Expect

  • A relaxed, baby-led session focused on capturing personality, curiosity, and all the tiny details.
  • Session length: Around 30–45 minutes (short and sweet—just like this stage!).
  • These sessions are all about play, smiles, expressions, and connection. No need to sit still or “perform.”

When to Book

  • Typically done at 6–9 months (when baby is sitting unsupported, but not yet running off).
  • Or anytime you’re noticing a sweet change in your little one—there’s no “wrong” time for milestones!
  • For 1st birthdays, you can choose a classic session, or add a simple cake smash or keepsake touch.

What to Wear

  • Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully—think textures like knits, linen, cotton.
  • Keep it simple: one outfit is often enough, or bring one change if you’re unsure.
  • Bare feet and bare bellies are always welcome (especially for little ones!).
  • Avoid logos, busy prints, or outfits that require constant adjusting.
  • If you’re joining in the photos (highly encouraged!), coordinate colours without matching too closely.

What to Bring

  • A favourite toy or comfort item (okay if it makes it into a few photos!).
  • Snacks or a small bottle if needed—non-messy options like puffs or crackers are best.
  • A change of clothes just in case of spills, leaks, or surprise messes.
  • For 1st birthday: a simple cake if doing a smash (naked or buttercream works best), bib, wipes, and towel for cleanup.

The Studio Vibe

  • Cozy, warm, and baby-friendly with soft natural light and neutral backdrops.
  • I’ll have some simple props available (baskets, chairs, rugs, etc.), but the focus will always be on your little one.
  • You’re welcome to bring any meaningful items—heirloom blankets, a birthday crown, or their special teddy.

Before You Arrive

  • Try to plan the session after a nap and after a feed—a full, rested baby is usually a happy one!
  • Don’t stress if baby is shy or serious—some of the best moments come from calm little expressions or slow curiosity.

After the Session

  • A sneak peek will be shared within a few days, and your full gallery delivered within [X timeframe].
  • You’ll be able to choose favourites and order any prints or products through your private gallery.

A Little Reminder…

  • There’s no pressure for your baby to “perform.”
  • If they need a cuddle, a break, or a snack—we’ll go with the flow.
  • These sessions are designed to honour this stage. However they show up, that’s the magic.

CAKE SMASH

I. Book the date.

what to Bring

  • A small cake—naked or lightly frosted works best (less icing = less slip!).
  • Keep colours light and soft if you want to match the studio’s aesthetic.
  • A simple bib (optional), towel, wipes, and a spare outfit for the ride home.
  • A drink or water bottle for baby to help wash it all down.

Tips for Choosing a Cake

  • No fondant (too firm and not baby-friendly).
  • Soft sponge or buttercream is perfect.
  • About 6 inches round is plenty—baby-sized, not party-sized!

II. Take photos.

Outfit Ideas

  • A cute romper, bloomer set, or even just a nappy cover.
  • Neutrals or muted tones work beautifully.
  • Bare feet always welcome.

III. Deliver memories.

What to Expect

  • We’ll start with a few clean portraits before the cake comes out.
  • Then, it’s all about letting your little one explore, taste, squish, and smash at their own pace.
  • Some babies go all in, some need a little encouragement—and both are perfect.
